I swear I did not teach my child to do this. As I was making our bed this morning, Charlotte opens my drawers & begins to pull out my panties & hang them around her neck. All of them. She was quite proud of herself & wore them around for much of the morning. Now I have to admit that I thought long & hard about posting this. It was just too good to pass up, but in doing so , I have to flash my undies to the whole world. So please excuse my indiscretions, and yes, I will go buy some new (and much nicer) underwear this week.

Layering is in.....

Charlotte's New Addiction
We have created a monster (or an obsession with one). Two weekends ago, we took a road trip across the state of Tennessee. In order to survive, we bought a portable DVD player and brought along several Elmo movies that my friend Brooke and her son Cooper very nicely passed down to us. It was a hit of course, but I am afraid that Elmo-mania has officially hit out house. Within that short amount of time, she now asks on a regular basis for "Melmo" & will even go to the extent to bring us the remote or a DVD to speed up the process. Don't get me wrong, it is very fun to watch her enjoy something, and I can really enjoy some of the time it keeps her occupied. But I can also see how this can become a slippery slope to a couch potato life. So for the time being "He who shall not be named" is only allowed at 6am (when we are struggling to wake up) or while I fix dinner. We'll see how this goes.....

Family Time!!
We have been on the go lately, traveling to visit family 2 weekends in a row. First we went to see my family in Alabama for baby Lily's baptism and Evan's 2nd birthday. It was a great time playing with all the cousins and seeing Nonnie & Papa. She even got to ride in her own seat on the plane! The next weekend we drove to Kingsport, TN for Matt's uncle's wedding. We got to see much of the Freeman clan while there. It was a fun busy 2 weeks and we are happy to be home!

18 month check-up
We went to see Dr. Lana last Thursday for Charlotte's 18 month check-up. When I saw her stats, I thought she hadn't grown a bit, but now that a look back at my post from her 15 month check-up, I see that she has grown, but just a little! As Dr. Lana says, "She was a big baby!" but she sure has slowed down in her growth. At 18 months, Charlotte's stats are:
Weight- 23 lbs 7 oz (48th %)
Height- 32" (65th %)
Head circumference- 46 cm (27th %)
The best news of all was that she got her last vaccination. No more until she is 5 years old!!

You want the good news or the bad news???
Yesterday when I went to pick my sweet child up at school, guess who was in time out? That's right, Miss Charlotte Faye Freeman, the bully. (Like how I used her full name? In my house growing up that always meant you were in trouble). Apparently she had spent the afternoon stealing toys from all her friends & had to be separated. There she was, sitting on the floor next to her teacher, red-faced, snot-nosed & sobbing. I tried to get her to apologize to her friends but she would have no part of it. I guess it is time for her to transition to the next classroom with bigger kids. I am sure all her classmates are thinking it can't come fast enough....
On a much happier note though.... My baby girl is smart! Charlotte has really become a fan of her dogs lately & I am teaching her how to give them treats. She takes a biscuit, tells them to "sit", & throws it for them to catch. She loves doing this & would feed them all day if allowed. Well yesterday, I gave her (for her snack) some Scooby-Doo Scooby Snacks. They are cookies shaped like dog bones. I hand it to her in the car & immediately hear this little voice say "Sit!" I love it!
